BIOGRAPHY

Allen Pearcy Galeana (he/they) is a Mexican-American tenor, storyteller, and champion of new music, originally from Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico. Equally at home in front of an orchestra or behind the scenes, Allen brings a deep curiosity and joy to everything they do—whether singing a world premiere, workshopping a new opera, or supporting contemporary composers as a music publishing professional.

Allen recently completed a Professional Studies Diploma in Voice at the Mannes School of Music, where they studied with Arthur Levy. While at Mannes, they performed the role of Nico in Mark Adamo’s Lysistrata and participated in several workshops of new works, including the role of Volmar in Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Hildegard. A passionate advocate for contemporary work, Allen now works in music publishing, managing and promoting today’s most innovative and genre-defying composers.

Allen also holds a Master’s degree in Music from the University of Oklahoma, where they performed roles of Elder Gleaton in Carlisle Floyd's Susannah, Dorvil in Rossini's La scala di seta, and John Wilson in Lori Laitman's The Scarlet Letter. Additionally, they earned their Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California, studying with tenor Gary Glaze and vocal pedagogue Lynn Helding. Highlights at USC include the role of Julián in Tomás Bretón’s La verbena de la Paloma, The Defendant in Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury, and Don Basilio/Don Curzio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro.

Offstage, Allen has appeared in commercials for Shriners Children’s Hospitals, the Oklahoma Lottery, and various regional campaigns. Whether performing in a world premiere or helping composers bring their scores to life, Allen remains deeply committed to amplifying bold, contemporary voices and building a more inclusive, imaginative future for opera and classical music.
